To run the model
- Open the Two Stage Flash project. Open the Case Model.
-
Click the Run button to run the model.
- If the Flash symbol changes to a green wire-frame image, this indicates that the Flash
has not converged. This is a result of the outlet streams changing from zero flow
to a non-zero flow.
- If you run the model again the outlet flows will not change, the Flash is converged
and it will be drawn normally.
After convergence
- The Flash sets the output streams' state
and composition. The flows
are colored corresponding to the Streams Color Chart.
- The properties after convergence of the Water_Gas stream and Liquor_Stream are shown bellow.
Exercise
Add various amounts of Na+ to see how dissolved solids affect boiling point rise.
- Change the flow of Na+ in the inlet stream. Double-click the stream, and modify
the value.
- Press Ok. Re-run the model.
- Double-click one of the output streams to see the saturation temperature.
