Overview running models

When a model is run, apiMAX calls the Run Event Handler. If the Model does not have a Run Event Handler, apiMAX runs the Model's top-level sequence items. Top-level sequence items are sequence items not referenced by another sequence item. If there are no top-level sequence items, apiMAX will run each runnable item once.

Run Menu or Run Toolbar commands are used to run a model. When an item is running the Run_Indicator symbol is shown next to it.

Running a Case Model

When running a case model, make sure all items are unselected by clicking an empty area of the model.
Click the Run tool or the Step-Into tool. apiMAX calls the Model's Run Event Handler function.
If the Model does not have a Run Event Handler, apiMAX runs the Model's top-level sequence items.

Running a Composite Model

Composite models can be run only when they are included in a Case Model.
When you define a composite model or you open it from Examples project, the Run menu is not available in the Method view.

Running composite items from a Case Model

You can run a Composite item in a Case model by selecting an item that references the model (e.g. a Pump item runs the Pump model).
Right click on the item. The item pop-up menu is shown.
Select View | Method to view the interior of the model.
Run all or any runnable items in the Composite Model's method.
